An interesting piece - informative, and frightening....for people like me. I have never been a smoker of cigarettes. I tried MJ in my youth, but it hurt my lungs and my throat, and it dulled my mind. I gave it up rather quickly. I didn't do well with alcohol either. I simply don't like my poor little brain being incapacitated by drugs or alcohol, and then suffering from reduced cognitive capacity for the rest of my life. And yes, that happened too -- although my health improved over the years, and a good college education helped me out.

My short-term memory was seriously impaired, although it improved for a time. But I have been permanently damaged by the experimentation that I indulged. And aging exacerbates the memory issues for most of us, I fear.
