Clearly the Republicans are starting to worry that, maybe, just maybe, their assumption that Donald Trump will automatically be re-elected because, shucks, that’s the way it’s done in this country, just isn’t that “iron-clad” — not the guarantee that a Second Term for this president isn’t guaranteed. Oh yes, we all know that getting re-elected for a second term in office as president is the characteristic (and the lazy) way that First-Term Presidents have generally progressed in their “illustrious career”. Unfortunately, I think we are aware that some presidents we’ve hired were incompetent, immoral, despotic, or simply “fake”. We’ve got one of those in the White House right now.
Here we are, America, with a president who has no experience in governing, no experience dealing with an organization as enormous as the United States Government (to say nothing about the White House), no experience with foreign nations or dealing with the power dynamics required to deal with authoritarian, despotic tyrannys. If you get elected to be president once, you’re a “shoo-in” for re-election, whether you’re competent or not, whether you tell the truth when you speak to the people on TV at night, or lie like a rug, daily.
This president is certainly no paragon of virtue. He has a lifelong personality disorder which is the root cause of his constant prevarications, and he simply isn’t interested in the well-being of the American people — thus his deplorable mishandling of the corona virus pandemic.
I’m not impressed with your reasoning here, Mr. Dixon, regardless of how well-written your commentary is. You want to try Joe Biden in a kangaroo court — by subjecting him to a barrage of nasty comments in your little opinion piece here. You are dredging up his past from 28 years ago, after he has faced his accuser back then. Smear Campaigns may be the Politics of the Hour here in America today, but that does not make them “Okay”, or “Righteous” or even necessarily honest. I’m not impressed, Mr. Dixon.
