Greg Lake, the lead singer of King Crimson and Emerson, Lake, and Palmer, said in one of his lyrics, “The fate of all Mankind, I fear, is in the hands of fools…” (Greg passed away on Wednesday in London … regrettably … He was 69.) But the truth of his words is an unparalleled comment on the stupidity and greed of our lamentable species. Ahh…but then, there are simply way too many of us stupid human apes on our suffering (and dying) planet anyway, are there not? So if another 60,000 of us die in the coming weeks because we simply must go to the beaches and hang out with all our sick and dying brethren, so be it, yes? I suspect our dying wildlife won’t miss us even a wee bit.

Pride goeth before the Fall.
