Thank you Stephen Marche, for your thoughtful, and frankly, sad contemplation of the fate of we Americans. Your piece is like a funeral dirge - a contemplation of all that is lost when a beloved passes, and only we the bereaved are left behind to consider what we have lost.

Your truth here has made me very sad. Your comment that there is no cure for being too stupid to take medicine is true, of course, and has multiple ramifications in this, our most trying time.

Our president is not capable of making decisions that would be helpful to our nation. He doesn't care about our peoples, or our country, or our environment. Nothing... just what might lend itself to profiteering for him. I hope that the larger majority of us voters (and lots of voters) will decide to send our current leader on his way to new fields where he might like the opportunities better. We need to replace him with a patriot who cares about the well-being of our nation, and our peoples. Thank you for your thoughtful piece here.
