Well, first off.. Happy Birthday! Glad to see you are still among the living, and even have a sense of humor about your landmark day!

However, the alternative is far worse than a new wrinkle or being forced to admit you're (OMG - I'm gonna die!) (Err.. well Maybe Not...!) FIFTY! Aaaah!!!

To comfort you, I am 72, and my next "Tick" comes up in 2 months! But I've been fortunate - my hair is STILL BROWN (and no I do NOT color it)... my face has NO wrinkles, and my brain still works... (mostly). Sigh... when you get up in the late 60s and so on, your short-term memory MAY begin to give you problems. Some folks have brain power that astounds all their friends late in life.

I am guessing that how well your short-term memory functions depends on a lot of variables--but mostly what you allow to get past your mouth and into your bloodstream, and how well you take care of yourself. If you get enough rest at night - that's a plus. If you lay off the high octane alcohol drinks, that REALLY helps. If you bypass the recreational drugs and the cigarettes, you're much better off.

I never took up smoking cigarettes, and I don't like the taste of alcohol (straight), and mixed drinks are WAY TOO fattening, so I didn't indulge there either.

As a result, I have a face that is wrinkle free, and my mental acuity is pretty good (I DO have a bit of short-term memory glitches), I don't have any wrinkles--except a few on my arms.

You are what you eat, sugar! Don't eat too much sugar, stay away from mixed drinks or alcohol, and don't smoke cigarettes (ahmm. or anything else, either)... You'll live to 100 and you'll look like you're 40! Trust me! :) Best wishes to you!
